Solar and Lunar Sine Wave Energy - Track the Cycles with Me!
Harnessing Natural Energies for Personal Growth
Understanding the Power of Solar and Lunar Cycles
Hello Friends!
I thought it would be interesting to look at where we are presently in the Solar and Lunar Year cycles.
Why is this helpful?
Timing cycles helps you succeed by allowing you to flow with the natural energy cycle.
You will get better traction in your efforts.
‘Going with the flow’ means you are supported by natural cycles.
You aren’t ‘fighting upstream’ against external energies.
You have a better understanding of the world around you.
The wind is at your back, so you can focus your energy.
I feel it's important for us to learn the natural cycles, as this knowledge can help so much with managing our own personal energy.
It’s my joy to present this information to you, and I hope it helps you as much as it has helped me flow my energy more synergistically in day-to-day plans and activities, supporting my desire to align deeply with the truth of my own Soul and express that energy in my life.
As you read on, I encourage you to reflect on how these cycles might support your own energy and goals.
To illustrate how this works, for example, if you’ve launched a new project, the increasing solar energy leading up to the June Solstice can be a great time to build momentum, while the upcoming New Moon phase (starting May 26) is ideal for setting intentions to implement during the lunar month of June (May 26 - June 24).
The Solar Year
What is the Solar Year?
The amount of sunlight expands throughout the year until the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere—the longest day of the year—while the Winter Solstice represents the shortest day in terms of daylight.
Traditionally, the solar year begins with the Winter Solstice. December 21 is the day most often referred to as the Winter Solstice, thus I use this date in the graphic.
See this video where I dive deep into the details. The True New Year - Solar Year, Lunar Year, Calendar Year Explainer.
From the Winter Solstice onward, there is a kind of ‘pause’ lasting several days, which I believe can be referred to as the ‘days of darkness’—a symbolic period rooted in cultural traditions, when sunlight remains roughly the same length (in hours and minutes) as at the Winter Solstice, expanding by only seconds each day.
Over the years I’ve spent time studying the length of this period of ‘darkness’, and have seen it last from 2 days (until the next day has one minute more of sunlight), to as much as 9 days. This timing varies depending on the specific year and one’s latitude-longitude location, with even a few miles potentially affecting the length of daylight.
Our calendar is based on the Solar Year and begins the New Year on January 1, which is 11 days after the Winter Solstice—the natural start of the Solar Year. Interestingly, 11 days is the exact difference in days between the Solar Year (365 days) and the Lunar Year (354 days).
This 11-day difference means that the lunar cycles gradually shift relative to the solar calendar each year, which is why the lunar month dates change annually.
On the graphic, I’ve used December 21 as the start of the solar year. For simplicity, I’ve used January 1 as the start of the calendar solar year and the lunar months, so the beginning of the month estimates the New Moon, and mid-month estimates the Full Moon. However, this is just for the purposes of explaining the broader cycles, as every year, the lunar month dates change.
In 2025, this broadly aligns, with the New Moons being at the end of the previous month (i.e., May 26 is the New Moon for the June lunar month), and the Full Moons being about mid-month (i.e., May 12 was the Full Moon for the May lunar month).
The solstices and equinoxes mark the solar seasons, and always occur from about the 19th through the 23rd of December (Winter), March (Spring), June (Summer) and September (Autumn), each year, in the Northern Hemisphere.
Of course, in the Southern Hemisphere, the seasons are reversed, with the Summer Solstice occurring in December and the Winter Solstice in June. Love to all of you ‘Down Under’!
Where We Are at Now in the Solar Year Cycle: Building to Peak Energy
On a solar year basis, we are working towards peak energy, which will be at June 20, 2025, at 7:42pm this year.
You may still be expanding your hopes and dreams at this time, perhaps adding new ones to what you’d like to implement.
There is also the opportunity to ‘power focus’, perhaps pulling back a bit to be able to handle all that you are imagining.
We are about 5 weeks until the start of the second quarter (2Q), using January 1 as the calendar start of the solar year.
How Do We Use this Knowledge?
In my view, the solar energy connects to our Human Soul on a personal level—our deepest desires, our communion with Divinity, and our honoring of God’s will in our lives.
The closer we come to knowing ourselves, the better we can understand how to use this energy to implement our hopes and dreams.
The Soul leads. The Human enacts. Implementing these hopes and dreams into activities and goals in our Human world aligns with the timing of the lunar year.
I’ve included a photo of the Sun I recently took to inspire you as you try these practices—imagine its light filling you with energy and warmth.
To tap into this expanding solar energy, here are some suggestions:
Rise and look to the sunrise, allowing the Sun to soak into your eyelids, shine on your face, and brighten your smile. If you cannot see the Sun, imagine that your face is turned towards it and continue the practice, as if there is no impediment between you and the beautiful Sun’s light and energy.
Pray, meditate, or move energy as a routine before you leave the house to start your day. Breathe in and know that you are loved. Ask for Divine guidance that aligns perfectly with you as a living Soul and child of the Creator.
If you don’t have time or miss a day, give yourself 30 seconds before getting out of the car. Close your eyes and breathe in deeply, intending to align with your heart and Soul, with spiritual guidance and wisdom, and with the Creator’s love for you before you start the day.
To align with the cycle of expanding light, reflecting on your deepest desires and how they align with your Soul’s purpose. Take time for you, allowing yourself to deepen connection.
Take a pause once in a while during the day, closing your eyes as if the sunlight is upon them, breathing in, and encouraging and uplifting yourself.
The Lunar Year - Working through Initiated Plans
What is the Lunar Year?
The Lunar Year follows the Western tropical astrology calendar, initiating with the first New Moon in Aries, the first sign of the zodiac. This happens in March or April each year. Thus, the lunar year goes from March/April to the following calendar year’s March/April.
Because New Moons occur every 29.53 days, the lunar months cycle through the calendar months, and the start date of each lunar month changes from one calendar year to the next.
For 2025, the Lunar Year began with the New Moon in Aries on March 29.
The Lunar Year Cycle - Refining Plans for Growth
On a lunar year basis, we have begun initiating plans for the year, and are working through building these up, with an eye towards tweaking our actions and plans as we look to the power period that begins June 20 at the Solstice.
We are now refining these plans in a focused way, making adjustments as needed to align with the upcoming power period.
Adjust or course-correct any slow starts or missteps.
We may have an eye towards making slight shifts in our actions and plans as we look to the June 20 power period.
Continuing actions need to be initiated or undertaken. Adjustments to our plans to ‘tweak them’ as we look ahead may need to be made.
We are looking out to what fruit we will begin to harvest at the Autumn Equinox September 22, 2025, at 11:19 am.
I hope understanding where we are in the sine wave cycles of the year helps you get your grounding and footing within the energies.
